Weddings & Events

The key is to take small steps, and lots of them.

Previously a Wedding Planner, I fully understand how planning and organising your big day can be a daunting experience. You may feel overwhelmed about where to start with your flowers.

That’s why I’m here – to help you decide what you do, and don’t want.

What are the steps?

1. Contact

Email or complete the online contact form and I’ll check your wedding date against my availability. All being well, we’ll arrange a date for your private consultation where we can talk through ideas for your wedding flowers.

2. Initial Consultation

Our first meeting can be held in the cosy Hygge Flower Studio, or at your venue. If you are further afield or outside the UK, we can arrange to have our consultation on a video or telephone call.

At the initial consultation, we’ll talk about your vision for your day including any styles and ideas which you may be drawn to, any favourite or meaningful flowers, colour schemes and textures. If you have any inspirational pictures or reels from social media, do bring them along to show me.

We’ll also talk budget. Deciding on a budget can be the trickiest part of planning your wedding. Having an idea of what you feel comfortable spending on your flowers before our consultation will help me guide you with what is possible within your budget.

3. Design, Design, Design

Now we know each other a little better, and I have a clearer understanding of what you’d like to achieve on your big day, I’ll start putting together designs of your arrangements. I’ll be taking into consideration your personalities, the season of your wedding and also your budget. From there I’ll build your personal quotation.

4. Your Quotation

I’ll send a bespoke quotation confirming the details previously discussed, along with the individual pricing for each design.

To give you an idea of what is involved, each individual price quoted will include; the flowers, my time designing, planning, sourcing, ordering, conditioning and caring for your blooms, also any mechanics and sundries needed for constructing your designs. Delivery and setup of your flowers on the day will also be included on the quotation.

Along with your bespoke quotation, there will be the terms and conditions and also a booking form, which will include the booking fee due to secure my services for your date.

5: Ordering Your Flowers

Before ordering your flowers, I’ll schedule a follow-up meeting with you about a month prior to your wedding day. During this meeting, we’ll reconfirm the final numbers, review the quotation to ensure there are no last-minute adjustments, and discuss the delivery details. Afterward, you’ll receive your final invoice, which needs to be paid two weeks before your wedding day.

Once final payment has been received, your flowers will be ordered and when they arrive with me, they will be carefully inspected, conditioned and cared for until your special day arrives.

The majority of your designs will be made a day or two before your wedding day, with the more delicate designs being made on the morning of your wedding.

6. Your Wedding Day

Your beautiful designs will be carefully packaged and transported to you and your bridal party, wherever you decide to get ready for your day.

And that’s it!

See, nothing scary.

By knowing what happens at each stage of your floral wedding adventure, any fears, stress or worries you may have will be alleviated — leaving you to simply lose yourselves and indulge in your big day.

My tips for your Wedding Day

Make sure at some point in the day, you take your partner off somewhere quiet to just stop and take in what has happened so far in the day. What can you see, hear and smell? Sometimes the most precious memories of the day are made during these few private moments.

Choose your suppliers carefully. Make sure they have the same approach as you and care about your day just as much as you do.

Don’t try to do everything yourself. Use professional suppliers for the big investment items such as dress, cake, flowers and photography. Your stress levels will thank you for it.

Ask your guests to park away from the main entrance if you are getting married in a stately home. The entrance is likely to be one of the feature areas that your photographer will want to use, so keeping it car free is very important.
